The Ed. S. degree is a unique professional degree in the field of education, a program that students enroll in after the master’s degree. The Educational Specialist (Ed.S) degree with a major in Teaching and Learning is intended for professional educators who demonstrate high levels of expertise in their areas of concentration and who wish both to develop those areas further. This degree is designed to help teachers become program leaders and instructional specialists in English Education.
To be admitted to the English Education area of concentration, students must submit following:
o T-5 certification in English Education;
o Three years of experience as a fully certified teacher;
o A writing sample;
o A goal statement describing teaching experiences and goals related to English Education.
This program requires a minimum of 30 semester hours of coursework and an exit portfolio.
