Teaching and Learning (Ed.S.) - Science Education concentration
The Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) in Science Education involves students in coursework and projects that will support an understanding of the practice of teaching science, and the supervision and leadership roles science teachers may undertake in the education of students and peers. The Ed.S. is a unique professional degree in the field of education, reflecting a high level of knowledge and expertise.
Each student seeking the Ed.S. degree in Science Education must complete a scholarly inquiry appropriate to the field of Science Education. The Scholarly Inquiry serves both as a learning experience in and of itself, and as evidence of one's degree of competence in one's field.Topics of scholarly inquiry must be approved by the major advisor and if applicable, the second committee member, prior to initiation.
