Library Media Technology Certification-only Programs

Georgia State University offers two additional programs for certification in Library Media Technology: add-on certification for teachers who currently hold T-5 certification or above, and initial certification for public librarians.

Please note that all students in certification-only programs must agree on a program of study with their advisor. Programs of study are individualized, based on students' previous coursework and experience. The courses outlined below are for guidance only.

Dr. Smith serves as advisor to all certification-only students.

Add-on Certification for Teachers

Teachers who already have a masters degree may apply for admission to the Library Media Technology program as non-degree students to take the courses required by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission for preparation as School Library Media Specialists.
