American Educational Resource Association
(AERA)

divisions and special interest groups. Its goal is to advance educational
research and practical application. Members include educators, researchers,
administrators, state and local agencies, graduate students, and

in Computing in Education (AACE)
"The Association (founded in 1981) is an international, educational
and professional not-for profit organization dedicated to the advancement
of the knowledge, theory, and quality of learning and teaching at
all levels with information technology." AACE's membership
includes people with various backgrounds who are interested in advancing
knowledge and learning with information technology in education.

Communications and Technology (AECT)
"The mission of the Association for Educational Communications
and Technology is to provide leadership in educational communications
and technology by linking professionals holding a common interest
in the use of educational technology and its application to the
learning process."
American Society for Training
& Development (ASTD)
"Founded in 1944, ASTD is the world's premier professional
association and leading resource on workplace learning and performance
issues." ASTD's membership includes people working in the field
of workplace performance with background in Instructional Design,
Human Resources, Government, Business and Industry.
Computer-Using Educators
Computer-Using Educators, Inc. is a non-profit California corporation
founded in 1978. Our goal is to promote and develop instructional
uses of technology in all disciplines and at all educational levels
from preschool through college. We have an active current membership
of over 11,000 educational professionals.
EDUCAUSE
EDUCAUSE is a nonprofit association whose mission is to advance
higher education by promoting the intelligent use of information
technology. Membership is open to institutions of higher education,
corporations serving the higher education information technology
market, and other related associations and organizations.
International Society for Performance
Improvement (ISPI)
The mission of ISPI to develop and recognize the proficiency of
their members and advocate the use of Human Performance Technology
(the systematic approach to improving productivity and competence.)
International Society for Technology
in Education (ISTE)
"ISTE is a nonprofit professional organization with a worldwide

We are dedicated to promoting appropriate uses of information technology

International Technology Education
Association (ITEA)
They claim to be "the largest professional educational association,
principal voice, and information clearinghouse devoted to enhancing
technology education through experiences in our schools (K-12).
Its membership encompasses individuals and institutions throughout
the world with the primary membership in North America."
