• Purpose: To meet the needs of Georgia’s teachers and students by providing extensive professional development in literacy teaching and learning for Georgia’spracticing P-12 educators.

Membership: Open to all University System of Georgia institutions; with representatives

from the Board of Regents; PSC, and Department of Education.

Publications: The Literacy Lens, a peer-reviewed journal published twice a year.

Primary Activities: Conducting and disseminating research on the effective teaching of

reading. Promoting dialogue and collaboration on the effective teaching of reading

across consortium members.
