Topic: Congressional session
Annotation: The Constitution states that Congress shall meet at a specific time of the year. This time was changed in 1933 by the Twentieth Amendment.

 

Citation and Text from the Constitution:

Article 1, Section 4, Clause 2
The Congress shall assemble at least once in every Year, and such Meeting shall be on the first Monday in December [Modified by Amendment 20], unless they shall by Law appoint a different Day.

 

Amendment 20, Section 2
