Topic: Inferior courts
Annotation: In addition to establishing the Supreme Court, the Constitution authorizes Congress to establish other federal courts as needed. These other courts include Federal District Courts and Courts of Appeal.

 

Citation and Text from the Constitution:

Article 3, Section 1
The judicial Power of the United States, shall be vested in one supreme Court, and in such inferior Courts as the Congress may from time to time ordain and establish.
