Topic: Legislative bodies
Annotation: The Constitution describes the process for determining how many members in the House of Representatives each state receives. The number of representatives a state receives is proportional to the population of the state. Each state receives 2 senators.

 

Citation and Text from the Constitution:

Article 1, Section 2, Clause 1
The House of Representatives shall be composed of Members chosen every second Year by the People of the several States, and the Electors in each State shall have the Qualifications requisite for Electors of the most numerous Branch of the State Legislature.

 

Article 1, Section 2, Clause 2
