Thomas is a comprehensive clearinghouse of legislative information freely available on the Internet. The site provides a summary of status, bills, and actions for the 93rd - current Congresses. The full text for all bills and statutes is available for 101st - current Congresses. The Congressional Record and calendars of Bills for the 101st to the current Congress is also available. In addition, Thomas includes the record of legislative action (including votes) information about how laws are made, and links to other federal government office web sites. Information is received daily from the Government Printing Office and indexed under the Intelligent Information Retrieval based at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Thomas is recommended for legislators, those with personal interest in a specific Bill, and all social studies students particularly those studying United States history and government/civics.
